Sewer Stop Valves

The Hidden Risk of Overwhelmed Drainage Systems

Intense rainfall and sudden water runoff can quickly overwhelm public drainage and sewage networks. When these systems fail to manage the increased volume, the result is often sewage backflow—a serious issue that can lead to flooded, contaminated properties and costly damage.

For property owners, engineers, and municipal authorities, our advanced flood protection solutions offer a reliable, cost-effective defence against the destructive impact of sewage backflow.

Understanding the Dangers of Sewage Backflow

Sewage backflow occurs when wastewater from public sewer lines reverses direction and enters private properties through drains and pipes. This hazardous event can be triggered by heavy rain or blockages in the main sewage system. The consequences are severe, as raw sewage is not only unpleasant but also contains toxic materials that pose a significant risk to human health.

Beyond the immediate health hazards, sewage backflow can cause extensive property damage. It ruins furniture, appliances, flooring, and structural elements, while also creating conditions for harmful mould growth. The subsequent cleanup and restoration can be a long and expensive process.

Integrated Flood Protection with Sewer Stop Valves

To effectively shield your property from these risks, installing reliable flood protection is essential. AS FRIIS provides a comprehensive range of solutions designed to control and mitigate flooding from drains and sewers.

Our key products include advanced Sewer Stop Valves and high-performance One-Way Valves for Drains. These are complemented by a variety of accessories, such as drain stoppers and plugs, to create an integrated defence system. Our solutions are engineered to ensure wastewater flows out but is automatically blocked from flowing back in, providing robust and cost-effective protection when you need it most.

WASTOP® Inline Check Valve

Advanced Flood Protection with the WaStop Inline Check Valve

Engineered for reliable flood protection, the WaStop inline check valve installs directly inside the pipe to prevent backflow while maximizing flow efficiency. Its innovative design opens with minimal pressure, enabling rapid water evacuation during heavy rainfall, while its superior seal blocks floodwater and sewage from re-entering your property.

With exceptionally low head loss and a proven backflow barrier, WaStop ensures consistent, efficient drainage—critical for safeguarding flood-prone areas. Built from premium rubber and stainless steel (AISI 316L), it delivers long-lasting, durable, and cost-effective defense against water damage.

Key Features and Benefits of the WaStop Inline Check Valve

  • Simple Installation: Designed for quick and straightforward installation directly within the pipework, saving time and reducing labour costs.
  • Superior Construction: Built with premium-grade materials to ensure durability and reliable, long-term performance in harsh environments.
  • Unmatched Flow Efficiency: Offers the lowest head-loss available in an inline check valve, ensuring the rapid and efficient discharge of stormwater.
  • Low Lifecycle Cost: Combines a long service life with minimal upkeep, delivering an excellent return on investment and cost-effective flood protection.
  • Virtually Maintenance-Free: The innovative design contains no moving parts, eliminating the need for regular servicing and preventing mechanical failure.
  • Versatile Sizing: Available in a comprehensive range of dimensions from 75mm to 2000mm, providing a tailored solution for any project scale.
  • Complete Environmental Barrier: Effectively stops the backflow of liquids, gases, and odours, while also preventing insects and small animals from entering the pipe system.
  • Reliable Backflow Prevention: Provides an immediate and effective seal against backflow, offering dependable protection even during low-flow conditions.

WASTOP® SLUICE GATE

WaStop inline check valve is designed to ensure the lowest possible opening pressure whilst maintaining the best possible seal against backflow. This, combined with the lowest head loss available, gives the most efficient flow conditions, ensuring the fastest evacuation of water.

WaStop inline check valve is made in highest quality rubber and stainless steel AISI 315 for long lifetime.

DANNOZZLE® FLAP VALVES

DANNOZZLE is the go valve in harsh environments, it have been developed for low maintenance and durability using a special lightweight glass epoxy combined with stainless steel AISI 316L.

Glass epoxy is commonly used for production of wind turbine  blades and is designed to be flexible and durable which ensures very high resistance against most chemicals as well as excessive wear and tear in harsh environments.

FOG SLIDE GATE VALVES

FOG SLIDE GATE VALVES is the most common option for 2 directional shutoff as well as where a Inline and Flap gate is not a option.

The FOG Valve are available in a low-pressure version with housing made in lead free PVC and gate and bolts made stainless steel AISI 316L as well as a high-pressure version with housing made in PE 100
