SPARK-EX Booster System

SparkEx spark booster pump for SparkEx spark protection and extinguishing system in food industry

SPARK-EX booster systems are engineered to supply water at the precise volume and pressure required by the nozzles within the SPARK-EX Spark Detection and Extinguishing system. The primary function of the booster system is to ensure that the extinguishing medium is delivered with sufficient force and coverage to neutralise ignition sources, such as sparks and embers, effectively.

To achieve optimal extinguishing performance, the booster system is configured to maintain a continuous and stable supply of pressurised water. The standard operational pressure is 7 Bar (approximately 100 PSI). This consistent pressure ensures that the water nozzles atomise the water into a fine mist, which is essential for rapidly cooling and extinguishing ignition sources before they can propagate.

Core Components and Functionality:

The Booster System is an integrated unit composed of several key components, each serving a specific role to guarantee reliable operation

  • Pump: The central component responsible for pressurising the water.
  • Tank: Acts as a reservoir to ensure an immediate and adequate supply of water is available upon activation.
  • Motor Control: Manages the pump’s operation, activating it as needed to maintain system pressure.
  • Pressure Switch: Monitors the water pressure within the system, signalling the motor control to start or stop the pump to maintain the designated pressure level.
  • Flow Sensor: Confirms that water is actively flowing through the system during an extinguishing event, providing critical feedback to the main control unit.
