The Lao Japan Port have upgraded the facility and constructed a new flood wall along the Mekong River to protect against flooding from the overflow of the Mekong River during the rainy season. 

To access the piers and load the boats under normal operation 3 access opening was provided and they needed to be closed during flood risk and high-water levels. 

AS FRIIS was engaged to supply 3 sets of Friiva Flood Protection Barriers 1 set 6 m wide by 3 m high, 1 set 6 m wide by 3.6 m high and 1 set 12 m wide by 3.6 m high. 

Due to the height of 3.6, the FNF 100 system was chosen as it have the strength to handle up to 4.6 m flooding heights
